Climate change, economic instability, and health crises exacerbate existing vulnerabilities and impede sustainable development progress in the least developed countries (LDCs). However, with strategic interventions and innovative solutions, these challenges can be addressed to foster long-term resilience and sustainable development.

The primary objective of the Third LDC Future Forum is to convene policy-makers, researchers, the private sector, and other stakeholders to share concrete innovative solutions and practical policy recommendations aimed at enhancing the resilience of LDCs. Emphasizing gender equality and the participation of women and girls in these discussions is key to developing holistic and inclusive solutions.

The Forum includes four thematic sessions, each delving into different aspects of resilience building. Additionally, a high-level dialogue is organized, focusing on financing strategies to support more resilient economies in the LDCs, and a fireside chat with the private sector focusing on their innovative solutions for building resilience in LDCs.

The LDC Future Forum is organized by The United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) and the Government of Finland. As with the first and second LDC Future Forum, UNU-WIDER is a partner in organizing the event. The Future Forum is financially supported by the Government of Finland.
