This event will involve an in-depth analysis of how, when, and why foreign aid has either facilitated or undermined democratization in Africa. The panel discussion will be centred around the launch of the book entitled Democratic Trajectories in Africa: Unravelling the Impact of Foreign Aid (Oxford University Press, October 2013), which is an output from the UNU-WIDER project on Foreign Aid and Democracy in Africa.
Presenters include co-editors Danielle Resnick and Nicolas van de Walle, and the event will be moderated by CEIP Fellow, Thomas Carothers.
