Fostering clean transitions and green industrialization in the Global South — Perspectives from emerging G20 economies
UNU-WIDER and ISID host a policy dialogue in New Delhi on policy lessons for national and global action to secure a clean transition to net-zero emissions without compromising the national development and economic growth objectives of emerging economies in the G20. The conversation between invited experts is open to the public and can be attended either in-person or online.
The event follows a 2-day project inception workshop for a component of UNU-WIDER's Patterns and drivers of global inequality project on green economic transformation, whose research and policy-bridging efforts focus on sustainable convergence and ensuring climate-friendly economic growth in Global South countries. The two-hour event begins with an inaugural address by Pedro Piacesi de Souza - Head of Energy and Environment Sector, Embassy of Brazil, New Delhi, followed by a discussion between experts.
