Laura Saavedra-Lux presents at the KIEL-CEPR African Economic Development Conference
Laura Saavedra-Lux, Research Associate at UNU-WIDER, presents her working paper on the connections of foreign direct investment and conflicts at the conference on African economic development (AEDC), organized by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
The conference brings together top economics researchers and policymakers to discuss state-of-the-art research on the constraints hindering economic development across the continent and to overcome them.
Laura Saavedra-Lux's presentation takes place on 12 September at the parallel session B2 on conflict, trade, and FDI. The title of her presentation is Double-edged sword: the hidden civilian toll of FDI in conflict settings.
