Despite ongoing uncertainty about the war’s progression, it is critical to start planning for Ukraine’s recovery, and its economic and social reconstruction. Given the scale of the matter at stake, and its multidimensional and interconnected challenges, the need for multistakeholder policy intervention has never been higher. The input of stakeholders from both public and private sectors will be key in securing economic and social stabilization and recovery in Ukraine.
This policy panel event offers a forum for debate and dialogue with valuable knowledge exchange between researchers and policy experts to inform decision making and policy reform processes. It will begin with a presentation by Prof. Patricia Justino, UNU-WIDER Deputy Director, sharing the key points from the research workshop taking place on 8 May. This is followed by a discussion between experts and key policy stakeholders, including Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland, Mr Maksym Kravchuk.
The discussion will cover three key areas:
- Refugees’ return and reintegration.
- Livelihood reconstruction and recovery.
- Rebuilding the social contract.
