Presentation and book launch within the framework of ECLAC’s regional annual seminar on fiscal policy. Giovanni Andrea Cornia will present research findings and new book Falling Inequality in Latin America: Policy Changes and Lessons (Oxford University Press, January 2014) resulting from the UNU-WIDER project which he directed on the New Policy Model, Inequality and Poverty in Latin America. The research and resulting book explain the sizeable decline of income inequality that has taken place in Latin America during the 2000s, through an exploration of inequality shifts and policy changes.
