Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and UNU-WIDER co-organized a seminar to present and discuss the findings of the 2015 Small and Medium Enterprises Survey on 5 May 2016, in Hanoi. The report provides an overview of key facts from the 2015 survey and also presents trends emerging from comparison of findings with the 2013 survey and earlier years. The survey is part of UNU-WIDER research project 'Structural transformation and inclusive growth in Viet Nam'.
At the seminar the report was presented by researchers who have worked on the survey within UNU-WIDER’s project, namely Kasper Brandt, John Rand, Smriti Sharma, Finn Tarp, and Neda Trifkovic. The topics of the report vary form enterprise growth and dynamics, informality and corruption, investments, innovation, labor productivity, employment structure, and trade and export performance.
After the presentation, local economic experts, researchers from CIEM, and policy-makers gave their comments and feedback about on the report. The final version of the report will be launched in November 2016.
