SOUTHMOD research presented at the University of Helsinki

9th Annual Conference for the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences & the Doctoral Programme in Political, Societal and Regional Change of the University of Helsinki is organized in hybrid format on 24-25 October 2022. UNU-WIDER Research Assistant Enrico Nichelatti presents at the conference on 25 October.

The theme of the conference is Research in the Time of Challenges: Searching for Methodological and Theoretical Horizons. The conference explores horizon-raising methodological and theoretical approaches in response to contemporary challenges and their outcomes. The event brings together the PhD candidates and academics interested in the topic.

The title of Enrico Nichelatti's presentation is A fiscal approach to the social contract in sub-Saharan African countries. This presentation is part of the SOUTHMOD - simulating tax and benefit policies for development project and Enrico Nichelatti's doctoral dissertation.

SOUTHMOD project is part of UNU-WIDER's research and capacity development programme on domestic revenue mobilization (DRM), funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation (Norad).
