Tax administrative data work presented at Addis Tax Initiative General Assembly
Amina Ebrahim, UNU-WIDER Research Fellow and Jonathan Msoni, Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Economist give a presentation at the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) General Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia on 22 June 2023.
Amina Ebrahim and Jonathan Msoni are presenting at the Technical session 1 on Using tax gap estimation towards improving compliance risk management. The presentation is based on the WIDER Working Paper Estimating tax gaps in Zambia.
The 2023 ATI General Assembly is an international forum discussing the progress made towards the ATI Declaration 2025, lessons learnt, and challenges still lying ahead. With representatives from over 70 ATI members attending the event, the 2023 ATI General Assembly facilitates discussions on coordinated technical cooperation and activities in domestic revenue mobilization (DRM), which are particularly relevant for partner countries.
The presentation is part of UNU-WIDER's Building up efficient and fair tax systems – lessons based on administrative tax data project, which is one workstream under UNU-WIDER's programme on Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM). The DRM programme is financed by the Norwegian development co-operation agency Norad.
