Training in poverty analysis using STATA
On 22-26 March 2021, UNU-WIDER, the University of Eduardo Mondlane, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique and the University of Copenhagen organizes a training in poverty analysis using STATA, a statistical analysis software used to analyse data patterns.
Organized at the University of Eduardo Mondlane, the main objective of the training is to provide tools for poverty analysis using the above-mentioned software. The course opens with an overview on the topics of development and poverty and an introduction to STATA. Mixing theory with practical exercises, solved both alone and in groups, the participants learn about poverty profiles, the determinants of poverty and methodologies to estimate costs of basic needs using the 2014/15 Household Survey database. The course also includes an introduction to multidimensional poverty analysis.
The course participants are a mixture of government analysts, academics and students from the University of Eduardo Mondlane.
