Learning to compete (L2C) – accelerating industrial development in Africa
UNU-WIDER’s Director Finn Tarp and Non-Resident Senior Research Fellow John Page gave a presentation on African development at the National Treasury of the Republic of South Africa as part of a task team effort to support National Treasury’s contribution to the formulation of an Africa Strategy.
At the event, Tarp and Page discussed the findings of the GAPP and Learning to Compete (L2C) projects and introduced the resulting publications. Their presentation was an overview with a focus on regional macro and sector level developments which provided insights on the chances of Africa for breaking into the global market for industrial goods.
