UNU-WIDER donates books to UEM central library
To disseminate knowledge, promote and facilitate research among teachers, students, and researchers at UEM, and the wider academic community in Mozambique, UNU-WIDER donated several of its books to the Central Library Brazão Mazula of the University of Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Mozambique. The delivery of the 11 volumes took place on 15 August 2024.
The books, each written and edited by UNU-WIDER’s experts and published by Oxford University Press, cover a range of topics related to development economics.
The books were received by Horácio Zimba, Director of the Central Library Brazão Mazula and delivered by Elina Penttinen, UNU-WIDER Partnerships and Programme Officer, on behalf of UNU-WIDER. She was joined in the event by Teles Huo, Director of the Faculty of Economics, and Pedro Pota, Director of the Centre for Economic and Management Studies.
‘We are delighted to be adding such important books to our bibliographic collection. We are sure that it will help inspire the large academic community, both internal and external, that makes use of our library, and to promote research in the field of economics in Mozambique’, Director Zimba highlighted upon receiving the books.
The University of Eduardo Mondlane is a longstanding partner of UNU-WIDER in the Inclusive Growth in Mozambique programme, alongside the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique and the University of Copenhagen. The programme supports evidence-based policymaking for sustainable development in Mozambique.
