UNU-WIDER Welcomes New Board Members


UNU-WIDER is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its board.
  • Professor Elisabeth Sadoulet is from the University of California at Berkeley, where she heads the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Educated at the universities of Lyon and Geneva, Professor Sadoulet has worked for the World Bank and acted as consultant to the Government of Mexico and the FAO. Professor Sadoulet’s main expertise is in economic development, agricultural policy, rural institutions and contract theory.
  • Professor Ravi Kanbur is T. H. Lee Professor of World Affairs, International Professor of Applied Economics and Management, and Professor of Economics at Cornell University. Professor Kanbur has served on the staff of the World Bank, as Senior Economic Adviser, Resident Representative in Ghana, and Chief Economist of the African Region of the World Bank, along with other posts. Professor Kanbur's main areas of interest are public economics and development economics.
  • Professor Anne Case is the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of Economics and Public Affairs and a Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Economics Department of Princeton University. Professor Case is interested in the microeconomic foundations of development, health economics, public finance and labour economics.

They join the following board members: Ernest Aryeetey, Roberto Frenkel, Martti Hetemäki, Vladimir Popov, and Konrad Osterwalder (ex officio).
