Plenary session
Panel discussion: Financing sustainable development

Auditorium: Wednesday, 6 September 2023: 16:00-17:30 (UTC+2)

The world is at a crossroads. How can the international community deliver on the outstanding promise of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, deliver sustainable transformations, and achieve the SDGs? How can all financing flows and policies be aligned with social, economic, and environmental priorities? What are the prospects for enhanced domestic revenue mobilization, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, with modernized tax bureaucracies and progressive tax policies? Can other financial flows, such as remittances, help bridge the finance divide between developed and developing countries? This policy plenary will address the challenges as well as opportunities for financing sustainable development and to address the investment gaps in Agenda 2030.
