Denise Wall | Moderator
Denise Wall is a journalist who has spent nearly 25 years working in print, radio, television and online news and podcasts. She has reported on a range of social issues at media organisations such as the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle, the Paris-based AFP and DowJones Newswires/The Wall Street Journal. Wall has also held senior roles in corporate and marketing communications with Finnish firms operating globally. She currently works as an independent consultant and has her own multimedia communications company Wallcomms.

Dr Rose Ngugi is Executive Director, KIPPRA and Chair for Southern Voice, a network of 59 Think Tanks.
She was previously Senior Advisor in the Office of Executive Director, Africa Group 1, IMF; member of MPC Central Bank of Kenya and University of Nairobi, School of Economics. She holds a PhD from Business School Birmingham University, UK, and Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Dan Banik is professor of political science and director of the Oslo SDG Initiative at the Centre for Development and the Environment, University of Oslo. He is also Affiliate Professor at the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE), Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, and Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria. Prof. Banik was a Visiting Professor and Consulting Scholar at Stanford University (2010-2017) and a Visiting Professor at China Agricultural University (2012-2017). He is the host of the In Pursuit of Development podcast.
Peter Chowla | Panelist
Peter Chowla joined DESA in 2014 as an Economic Affairs Officers working on the Financing for Development Process. He served as Senior Economic Affairs Officer in the FACTI Panel Secretariat from 2020-2021.
Prior to working at the UN, he worked for a decade in macroeconomic and international financial policy analysis at a London-based NGO.
Emilia Skrok | Panelist
Emilia Skrok is a Program Leader for the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions Global Practice. She has been working with The World Bank since August 2004.
Starting July 2002 till July 2004 she was working as the Economist in Economic and Market Research Team, Treasury Department of Bank PEKAO S.A., the largest private bank in Poland. Simultaneously, she worked as Professor Assistant at Warsaw School of Economics, Department of International Comparison Studies teaching class on international comparative economics. From February 1999 until June 2002, she held a position of Senior Economist in Department of Financial Policy, Analysis and Statistics, in Ministry of Finance.
She graduated from Lodz University, Department of Foreign Trade, Major in International Finance. She is interested in creating pieces of art and visiting modern art galleries.
Milly Nalukwago | Panelist
Milly Nalukwago holds a bachelor's of Statistics and master's in quantitative economics. She is currently pursuing a master's in Institutional Management and Leadership. She has 27 years experience in tax administration in Uganda, of which 8 were served as Head of Research Planning and Development where she was head of Uganda Delegation to the East Africa Revenue Authorities Technical Forum.
She is chief editor of the EAC regional comparative report, advisor at the Africa Tax Administration Forum on Africa Tax Outlook, a member of the board and researcher at the ICTD, researcher with UNU-WIDER, TADAT Assessor and short-term expert with the IMF on TADAT.
She has carried out and participated in a number of tax topical researches at the time. Currently, she is Director of Statistics at the Central Bank of Uganda heading the Statistics Department, and member of the WIDER Board and the ICTD Digitax Board.
