Conference on poverty and well-being in Mozambique

This conference will bring together policy advisers, development practitioners, and government representatives to discuss the results of the 4th Mozambique poverty assessment based on the 2014/15 household budget survey. These long-awaited poverty estimates at national and regional level include both consumption and multidimensional measures, and could influence national policy and international cooperation.

The conference aims to raise public awareness on the issue of poverty and highlight the importance of poverty estimates and its policy implications. By identifying the most important characteristics of poverty for the Mozambican case we can aid decision makers in the country in tackling the challenge of improving living conditions for the worst off.

Part of the 'Inclusive growth in Mozambique' project, this conference will take place on 25 October at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre in Maputo.
